Evening.

About to order my first Renault. going for the Scenic Long range Esprit Alpine in matt grey 8-)

Does anyone know about EV chargers and this model? The blurb on Renault's website about charging rates says for DC rapid charging its a minimum of 130kw or 150kw.
The charger where I work is 120kw, so does that mean it wont charge on DC as it doesnt meet the 130kw? Or will it charge at 120?

It means up to...up to 150kwh for example. The cars BMS (battery management system) will detect the DC signalling and adjust the flow rate accordingly. Up to 130kwh for Techo, up to150kwh for Alpine and Ionic. So 120kwh will work just fine.

My experience is that a proportion of ev's and DC charging stations don't actually charge at or provide the advertised kwh rate so bear that in mind.

Some say minimum but that is incorrect it should read maximum. DC Chargers vary in output across the country so as stated the BMS will adjust accordingly. As the battery % level rises, especially above 80%, the BMS will slow down the KWH rate to help battery life longer term. It is recommended to only charge to 100% on DC when absolutely necessarily and not too regularly. As stated the charging rate slows down and the last 20% will be slower., perhaps hogging a charging station when it is not really required.
