The Renault Scenic Electric has a 545-litre boot capacity. You open the tailgate to a really deep, squared-off load space that’s complete with a few bag hooks, a 12V charger and cable storage under the floor.
The problem is that the floor is a long way down from the load lip, and the 40/20/40-split rear seats leave a big step up when folded down. So while there’s plenty of space in the boot, it’s mostly in the depth. Renault will be providing a variable boot floor, its unclear if this will be standard or an option at launch.

Just a quick comment about the boot after test-driving one of the UK Scenic E-Techs last week. We'd read a few negative comments in reviews about the high entry level & deep space beyond, but were pleasantly surprised by what we found - but then we're upgrading from a Zoe, so that's probably not surprising! As Rob says above, the boot offers a basic loading capacity of 545 litres, which can be increased to 1,670 litres when the rear bench seat is fully folded down, so there’s a lot of space but a lot of height in that space. It's going to involve lifting things over the fairly-high entry level lip into what I reckoned was about a 10”-12” drop to the boot floor. The lip up to the lowered bench seat level is also a bit high but it’s all very useful space for our needs. The boot entry is just under a metre wide (96.4cm) at its narrowest point, so may seem a bit narrow for some items - the wide double-buggy we have for our smaller grandchildren will just about be okay. The test drive model had an optional boot insert fitted (the test-driver reckoned it's similar to one available for the Megane E-Tech, but I haven't seen that), which raises the lower level up to the boot entry level & adds 3 substantial storage compartments under its fold-down floor. I've not seen anything on the website about this add-on yet, but our test-driver reckons it’ll probably be a couple of hundred pounds extra to buy it as an accessory any time after purchasing the car itself. The first section of the insert has a boot-wide single storage space, sitting over a built-in lower cable-storage space behind the main battery pack, then 2 half-width compartments behind it for storing other items, all covered by a fold-down floor at entry level - useful and it looked and felt well-built, but is probably a bit expensive for us just for keeping things tidy. It's a substantial upgrade for us anyway, so we're happy.
