I just got the Renault scenic etech with 87kw battery. I was looking forward to the lone range. However I’m so disappointed, I know the weather has been very cold recently but I am only getting about 220 miles when range is supposed to be up to 360 miles. That is a really big drop even in cold weather. I had the kia soul with a 64kw battery and the range certainly didn’t drop very much in cold weather. Has anyone else seen a large drop in range? I am very careful not to drive too fast and I vary rarely use the heating

Coming from a Kia e-niro my experience is the same but I have adopted the no point in looking over you shoulder attitude. You already know all the things that can affect range so no point going there. However the Renault is not as efficient in cold weather as the Niro/Soul/Kona and can lose up to 20 - 30% range loss in cold weather I believe. Given the true range is 320 to 340 experienced by most test reviews ( some did get more but generally that was my experience in watching reviews pre purchase) that does take us down to the range we are experiencing. My old Niro would beat that hands down but as stated no worth in looking backwards. So not as thermally efficient in the winter and its a bigger heavier car than our old cars....but roll on summer to see if the truer range appears. (P.s I find I need to use the paddles more than the e-niro)

Hi, I’m Su
I collected my Scenic e tech long range a couple of days ago. It had a full charge of 354 on collection. It has been very cold recently.
I have just done my first charge and the max range at 100% battery says 260. Very disappointed. That’s over a 30% drop. Unexpected. My previous vehicle was a Mokka e. And I was getting 180 on that, only a 20% drop on maximum range.
It’s early days yet so I’m hopping things will improve as I get used to the style of driving the scenic favours.
So far I’ve been driving it in comfort mode.
What features are lost if I use the eco mode?

UPDATE: I’ve worked out that the range shown after you charge is of course based on the computer analysts of driving. However, if you then zero the trip odometer, the range increases to show potential range on full charge. In this colder weather my battery at 100% showed a potential range of 330. I haven’t done a long run in it yet, but am assuming that when I do the battery will get warmer and therefore increase the range achievable.

Definitely would like to hear from more owners on this. Thinking of replacing my Mégane with a Scenic later this year but the efficiency numbers at ev-database aren't encouraging. Having said that they look optimistic for the Mégane so maybe that's the issue.

When I reset the trip to zero the range on my Renault scenic etech doesn’t change.
